Sports Day Celebration in Department of Education, Patna Women’s College

Patna: 23 February 2025 :: The Department of Education, Patna Women’s College came alive with the fervour of athleticism and sportsmanship during the exultant celebration of Annual Sports Meet organised on 22nd February, 2025. Prof. Shalini, Registrar, Patna University graced the occasion as the
Chief Guest. Dr. Sr. M. Rashmi A.C, Principal, Dr. Sr. M. Tanisha A.C, Vice Principal, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous and Dr. Sr. M. Saroj A.C, Head, Department of Education, welcomed the guests. The Principal of Patna Women’s College, Autonomous – Dr. Sr. M. Rashmi A.C. delivered the welcome address and acknowledged the dedication of teachers for their continuous efforts. She emphasised the importance of sports in a teacher’s life and the need to stay active as role models for their students.

The day began with a vibrant procession of March Past of the four houses led by the B.Ed. Prefect Astha, followed by the Vice- Prefect Sushma Singh and the four house leaders and
assistants. This was followed by a melodious welcome song – “Hearty Welcome to You”. The
spirit of sports was honoured through a series of field events like Shuttle Race, Sack Race,
Spoon and Lemon Race, Octopus Race, Dress Yourself Race and Relay Race which followed
one after the other. The spotlight of the show was Lathi Khela Drill and Yoga Nritya performed in coordination and with zeal by the students of first and second year respectively. Finally, a vibrant and colourful Grand Finale wrapped up the sports event, solidifying the patriotic commitment to fostering sports and fitness across the populace.

The sports event was wrapped up with prize distribution ceremony for the indoor, outdoor and track events. Umang and Roshni Tigga of first year emerged victorious and were both crowned as Individual Champions for the year 2025. Blue House was declared the winner of the March Past. At the end, Green House bagged the trophy of House Championship. The Chief Guest, Prof. Shalini congratulated the students for showcasing their leadership qualities and spirit of camaraderie, encouraging the prospective teachers to realise the importance of an active lifestyle. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Astha, Prefect of the B.Ed. Department.
