IIT Patna to Host the 11th Annual Convocation on February 15, 2025

Patna: 13 February 2025 :: The prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, an institution of national importance enacted by the act of parliament, is all set to conduct its 11th Annual Convocation on February 15, 2025. A total number of 713 students comprising 384 B.Tech (2020 batch) 171 M.Tech (2022 Batch), 81 M.Sc (2022 batch ) and 77 Ph.D degree recipients are scheduled to be conferred degree. The total number of degree recipients in person is 415 and the rest is in absentia. In general, all the degree recipients belong to the best achievers’ club and the exceptional among them are likely to be conferred with certain prestigious medals and awards. The event will be graced by the esteemed presence of the chief guest, Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) –Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Education, Government of India. Shri Sunil Kumar, the honorable Minister of Education, Government of Bihar, will be the distinguished guest of honour for the event.

Prof. T. N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna has expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The convocation marks the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by our students. It is a moment of great pride for us as an institution, and we are committed to the service of nation by imparting quality education and training to the younger generations.”
In preparation for the Convocation ceremony, a dedicated committee has been formed to ensure that every aspect of the event is meticulously organized. “We are leaving no stone unturned in making this convocation a grand success. From the smallest details to the larger arrangements, every effort is being made to ensure a smooth and memorable occasion for our graduating batch and esteemed guests,” added Prof. Singh.
The convocation will feature a distinct dress code for degree recipients. Male students are requested to wear a knee-length, full-sleeve, white/off-white cotton kurta with white pyjama. Female students have two options: either a knee-length, white/off-white cotton straight kurti with white churidar (without any colored prints, borders, or embroidery) or a white/off- white cotton saree with a simple golden border and white/off-white blouse.

Students are also advised to avoid front-slit kurtis or fancy styles and the use of salwar/patiala pants.

Additionally, stoles in different colors have been planned to distinguish the degree recipients: green for the B.Tech graduates, blue for the M.Tech and the M.Sc graduates, orange for the PhD recipients, and golden yellow for the dignitaries on the dais.

This year’s convocation promises to be a grand celebration of the institution’s academic excellence and a testament to the hard work of the graduating class. IIT Patna continues to uphold its commitment to produce leaders, innovators, and thinkers who will contribute significantly towards the nation building.
