Patna: 5 November 2023 :: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) celebrated its 64th Foundation Day on 2nd November 2023 with great enthusiasm. Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and former Director of IIT Kanpur graced as the Chief Guest. On this momentous occasion, 22 recipients were felicitated across five categories – Institute Fellows, Distinguished Alumnus Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, Young Alumnus Awards, and Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award.
The IIT Kanpur conferred upon Shri Jai Shankar Sharma the distinguished services award ( DSA) 2023 for his stellar contributions in facilitating alumni connections and his tireless services to his alma mater. He received his bachelor’s degree ( BTech) in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1977. Shri Sharma hails from Barhiya in Patna district of Bihar state and currently resides in India’s IT city Bengaluru. Shri Sharma has rich corporate experience having served in various capacities in several organizations including Fouress Engineering, eSpark Pvt. Ltd., Arasor Communications Pvt Ltd, Calsoft India Ltd. etc.
Jai Shankar Sharma has been volunteering for swachh Bharat abhiyan since January 2015. He is skilled in business development management, consulting business strategy, startups, outsourcing, startup training, vendor management consulting, CRM, product management, business analysis, cloud computing, team building, business intelligence, strategic partnership and telecommunications.
