The NSS unit of Patna Women’s College inaugurated its much- anticipated Annual NSS Special Camp today, marking the beginning of a seven-day journey focused on learning, creativity, and community service.
The opening session featured an engaging dance workshop conducted by Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, who introduced volunteers to various dance forms and their historical significance. Participants also had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Bharatanatyam, gaining insights into the grace and discipline of this classical art form.
Following the workshop, the formal inauguration of the NSS Special Camp took place with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C, Principal, Patna Women’s College, along with distinguished guests Professor Suheli Mehta, NSS Coordinator, Patna University; Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English & Programme Officer; and Dr. Amrita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics & Programme Officer.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C extended her best wishes to the volunteers and programme officers, while Professor Suheli Mehta delivered an inspiring address on Global Harmony, emphasizing the significance of this special camp. The occasion also marked the welcoming of new programme officers, Dr. Jyoti, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Brahma Nand, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi. Moon Kumari who participated in Republic Day Parade 2024 at Kartavya Path New Delhi was also felicitated by NSS coordinator Prof. Suheli Mehta and the programme officers of Patna Women’s College. She motivated the volunteers and explained her journey to Republic Day Parade camp.
This year’s NSS Special Camp is themed “Harmony in Diversity: Celebrating India’s Cultural Mosaic,” underscoring the richness of India’s traditions and the importance of unity. Volunteers were introduced to a series of engaging activities designed to provide a meaningful and immersive experience throughout the week.
Adding a creative dimension to the day, a Pot Painting Competition on the theme “Showcasing Different Forms of Painting” allowed volunteers to express themselves artistically while celebrating India’s diverse artistic heritage.
With a focus on teamwork, cultural appreciation, and service, the NSS Special Camp at Patna Women’s College is set to provide volunteers with an enriching and impactful experience over the coming days.
