Delhi/Patna: 26 November 2024 :: On the occasion of Constitution Day, a grand ceremony was held in the Central Hall of the Parliament in New Delhi. During this event, the Maithili translation of the Indian Constitution was officially launched by President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr. Vibhay Kumar Jha, the National Youth Vice President of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), termed this event historic and expressed his gratitude to the central government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. He said, “Today marks a new chapter in the history of Mithila and the Maithili language. The launch of the Indian Constitution in Maithili at a place of cultural and historical significance like Madhubani is a moment of pride and respect for regional heritage and culture.”
Dr. Jha extended his heartfelt gratitude to the scholars who contributed to the translation process. He remarked, “The availability of the Indian Constitution in Maithili is not just an effort to preserve the language and culture, but it will also serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.”
He further stated, “This is a moment of pride for Mithila. The Maithili language is our identity, and the translation of the Constitution is a significant step toward the development and recognition of the language. It aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘education and development in the mother tongue.’”
