IIT Patna: Annual cultural fest, Anwesha, kicked off its first day with a spectacular inauguration ceremony

Patna: 02 February 2024 :: The campus of IIT Patna came alive with enthusiasm as the annual cultural fest, Anwesha, kicked off its first day with a spectacular inauguration ceremony. The 13th edition of Anwesha, themed “Mirage of Aesthete” was started by lamp lighting ceremony by esteemed chief guests Mr. Anand Kishore, Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board and Padma Shree Ashok Kumar Biswas, adding a touch of eminence to the occasion. The institute’s Director, T.N. Singh, addressed the gathering, setting the tone for the festivities ahead.

The Director appreciated the entire team of Anwesha for their tremendous efforts and wished the best for the success. Padma Shree Ashok Kumar Biswas stressed about the importance of honesty and shared his personal experiences about how he overcame many difficult situations by being honest. He urged the students to follow these ethics irrespective of circumstances. Mr. Anand Kishore stressed about how cultural fests are important in shaping the overall development of students. He further advised the students to indulge in extra curriculum activities for their overall development. He further stressed about how he played a vital role in reviving an art form Tekuli through collective efforts.

The inauguration ceremony paved the way for an array of events, showcasing the diverse talents of the participating students. The day’s highlights included the much-anticipated Mr. and Mrs. Anwesha, a dazzling display of charisma and elegance. Heelturn, a dynamic dance competition, and Syngphony, a singing competition, captivated the audience with performances that resonated with skill and creativity. The campus also witnessed the vibrant AnimeCon, the artistic flair of Darpan (wall painting competition), and Imagination Station.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, The Niyazi Brothers, renowned for their soul stirring Qawwali performances from Coke Studio, left the audience awestruck. Additionally, Chau dance presented by Spic Macay added a traditional touch to the evening. The collective energy and jubilation resonated throughout the campus, making the cultural night a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.
Looking ahead, the second day of Anwesha promises a diverse array of workshops and engaging events. Attendees can participate in workshops such as Modelling, Photography, and Long Skateboard, providing a platform for skill enhancement and creative expression. The event lineup includes Comedy Crunch, The Escape Room, Verve, and Ekal, ensuring a dynamic and entertaining continuation of the cultural spirit.
