Patna: 21 April 2023 :: FIST (Foundation for Innovators in Science & Technology), IIT Patna organized the captioned event which is a nationwide education and innovation competition for Gen Z, “Solve for Tomorrow”. This event scouts for ambitious and innovative 16- 22 -year- olds who can solve global issues with game -changing tech solutions. The three best ideas stand a chance to win a total of ₹ 1.5 crores. That is in addition to advanced training by FITT, IIT- Delhi, mentorship by Samsung and Government experts as well as the opportunity to visit Samsung sites across the country. The event helps to turn innovators’ dreams into reality and also for a sustainable future.
The said event was interactive and there were numerous activities comprising ice – breaking activities, innovator talks about their innovation and their entrepreneurial journey to inspire the audience. The experts on the subject and the start -up founders focused on “Design thinking and how to Think” and program benefits in the ‘SFT’ journey for everyone.
The SFT- 2023 was organised for education and motivation of young inspiring minds of
IIT Patna and other technical institutions.
It also emphasized to bring the latest technology solutions and innovative ideas to the aspiring minds and it was an opportunity for innovators/participants to increase their awareness of technology solutions that can benefit their communities from a local to global scale. The session was inaugurated by the Director of IIT Patna Prof. T N Singh along with all invited dignitaries. Dr. Praveen Kumar, CEO, FIST- TBI, IIT Patna along with Prof. K Patra, Professor -in- charge (PIC) FIST, IIT Patna welcomed all the distinguished guests, panelists, faculty members, researchers, innovators, startups, participants, and stakeholders.
The Director, IIT Patna Prof. T N Singh in his opening remarks detailed the Solve for Tomorrow 2023 event. He has nicely outlined the “Future prospects and Challenges in the society related to four themes:
- Health & Wellness.
- Education & Learning.
- Diversity & Inclusion.
- Environment & Sustainability
The eminent speakers included Niraj Jha – Founder & CEO – Hanuman, Anubhav Sen, FITT, IIT Delhi, Samsung CSR Team, etc. They shared their insightful thoughts through interactive mode during the technical ice -breaking session of the event. The moderator of the panel discussions was Dr. Praveen Kumar, CEO, of FIST, IIT Patna who moderated the discussions vibrantly.
The talk by Niraj Jha – Founder & CEO – Hanuman was focused on the ‘Journey from Invention to Innovation to Entrepreneurship”. The talk suggested that ‘purpose’ is an important consideration that drives the transition from inventor to innovator and further to entrepreneur. He shared his live journey with the participants. Examples of technological startups, including those in the industry, were discussed. The students actively participated in the interactive session. Speakers from FITT, IIT Delhi, and Samsung India, then explained the challenges in fostering a startups ecosystem in India, specifically focusing on why it is a tough space, what it takes to be a successful start-up in this space, and what are the measures that the government is taking to help this ecosystem.
The said event is being executed with the support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and Samsung India that precisely focuses on creating an ecosystem for grooming startups in the above -mentioned themes.
