Uttarakhand, Kashipur:: Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur successfully conducted its Annual HR-conclave ‘Samanvaya’- Chapter 2 on campus. The event was organized in the campus premises and was the first on campus event after 2 years of online activity on 23 July 2022.
The event was based on the theme ‘The Human Centricity: Future of The Workforce’
The event began with a welcome of the honorary guests by Prof. Mala Srivastava which included Mr. Girish Vir, CHRO, Hotel Corporation of India, Mr. Bikram K Nayak, Head Marketing, L&T Edutech, Mr. Subhankar Ghose,VP & Head Sales HR, Spice Money, Mr. Rakesh Gopalani, Deputy General Manager – Talent Management, Porter and Ms. Sudha Krishnan, Director – Talent Acquisition, Tiger Analytics.
Delivering the keynote speech for the session, Mr. Girish Vir said that digital technology is the future but humans are driving the change and they are modifying themselves to adapt to every change happening around them. He stressed on the importance of people working in the supporting services in any sector and shared his ideas on creating an inclusive future of work.
The panel discussion on the theme of ‘Fostering Employee Experience: Igniting Potential’ was moderated by Prof. Rameshwar Ture, Faculty, IIM Kashipur. The panelists shared their views on the importance of delivering a healthy employee experience besides the monetary compensation factor involved.
The panelists discussed the significance of employee involvement and focus on employee engagement through meaningful work, goal setting, and communication of value if you want to lower employee attrition. The conversation included insights on the surge of opportunities, changing aspiration of the employee, technological advancements and service management. The importance of hyper-personalization was highlighted on how it customizes the system and process to establish the connection and sense of belongings within the employee.
The evening session of Samanvaya was based on the theme of Human Centricity: Key to sustaining Great Recession, the panelists were Mr. Santosh Ghate, vice president, Gartner, Mr. Pancham Dogra, Head of Talent Management, Bennett Coleman, Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Head HR – Strategic HR Leader, AAJ Enterprises, Mr. Debargha Deb, National Manager – Sales HR, Dabur, the session was hosted by Prof. Mridul Maheshwari where the panel discussed multiple topics and areas of human resource management and how the organizations need to build their Human Resource strategies in order to hire good talent. The panel highlighted the importance of crucial managerial aspects including employee value proposition (EVP) and flexibility in hard and fast rules of the organizations.
The students posed several questions to the esteemed panel regarding the ongoing and upcoming trends of workforce management and the impact of ground-breaking technology on the skill development of employees and the use of analytics tools for the same. The speakers heavily appreciated the active participation of the students in the conclave.
