Patna: 24 February 2022 :: The much awaited Annual Sports Meet was held on Thursday 24th February 2022 in the sports ground of Department of Education, Patna Women’s College with great zeal and fervour. The Programme commenced with flag hoisting by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. principal, Patna Women’s College. She took the salute of the March Past presented by the B.Ed. students. The March Past was led by Tuli Sinha, Prefect, Department of Education, Patna Women’s College. The teacher trainees welcomed the guests by singing ‘Jaise Surya ki Kiran…’ The Principal Dr. Sister. M. Rashmi A.C welcomed the chief guest Dr. Sister M. Liceria A.C. and others. She congratulated the students and teachers for putting a successful programme despite COVID.
The track events began with a lot of cheering and tons of encouragement. The trainees have participated in sports events including Lemon spoon race, Sack Race, Dress Yourself, Shuttle Race and Relay Race. Additionally, the winners of the competitions, Badminton, Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis were announced and awarded with certificates and medals. The Individual Championship for the session 2021-22 was awarded to Sumanti Kullu of B.Ed. 4th semester and the Runner up of Individual Championship was awarded to Mansi Kumari 1st semester.
The B.Ed. trainees also displayed Sword drill Virangana which displayed women empowerment with fervour and enthusiasm.All the teacher trainees presented excellent examples of enthusiasm, unity and group work. The Special Guest Dr. Sister M. Liceria A.C. said that sports is necessary for health. A teacher should always encourage students to actively participate in sports activities and they should not be confined to the formal classroom learning.
The program concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Perfect, Tuli Sinha, Prefect of Department of Education, Patna Women’s College.
