Bhagalpur: 07 August 2021:: As a part of National Handloom Day celebration, Weavers Service Centre, Bhagalpur organized a program on importance of handloom and upliftment of weavers. On the occasion of 7th National Handloom Day, this program was jointly organized with four handloom clusters of Bihar- Miranchak PWCS Limited, Bhagalpur Regional Handloom Weavers Cooperative Union Limited Mohiuddinpur, Chakraborty Handloom Lodipur and Bihar Sharif Cluster Nalanda.
In his address V.U.Bhisare, Head of the Office of Weavers Service Center, Bhagalpur told about the efforts being made by the government for the progress and welfare of the weavers. He also gave information about several welfare schemes being run by the Government of India for the welfare of weavers, including Block Level Cluster, Handloom Promotion Assistance Scheme, Samarth Training Scheme, e-Dhaaga, e-Commerce Marketing Platform for Handloom Weavers.
On this occasion, those who contributed for the development of handloom sector were also felicitated. Master weavers, national award winning weavers, entrepreneurs and exporters participated in the programme.
The chief guest of the program was Ramsharan Ram, General Manager, DIC Bhagalpur, while the special guest was M.K. Jha of M/s S.R. Oversease limited. Other invited guests included Chandan Kumar Sinha, DDM of NABARD, Bhagalpur; Seema,Principal in-charge of Government Polytechnic Bhagalpur and Tripurari Choudhary, scientist of Bhagalpur Central Silk Board.
National Handloom Day Programme relay from Delhi was also shown to guest and participants during the function.
