Patna: 6th August 2021:: To celebrate the 75th years of India’s Independence, 34 Bihar Bn. NCC Gp. HQ Muzaffarpur under the guidance of NCC Directorate Bihar & Jharkhand celebrated “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” at RK College, Madhubani. A felicitation and motivational event was held in honour of Gallantry Award “Shaurya Chakra” winner, Shri Ram Shreshtha Tiwari on this occasion. The Event was part of the series of programs being organized on the occasion of. “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The Event was also live streamed on the Gallantry Award Portal. Ram Shreshtha Tiwari belongs to vill-Barkar, Teh- Harlaki, Distt- Madhubani. He served in GREF from 1966 to 1988. In 1974, he was awarded Shaurya Chakra wherein he had saved lives of 150 civilians struck in snowfall in high altitude area single handedly without caring for his own life and safety. Brig Rajesh Negi, Gp.Cdr. NCC Gp. HQ Muzaffarpur felicitated the awardee with a memento.

The event was attended by number of dignitaries including Colonel Ram Niwas, CO 34 Bihar Bn NCC, Principal RK College, ESMs and cadets of NCC along with family members of the awardee. The NCC cadets were very enthusiastic and motivated after the interaction with Shri Ram Shreshtha Tiwari, winner of Shaurya Chakra.
