Teacher’s Day is celebrated Every year on 5th September, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radha krishnan , former president of India.
Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5 Sep, 1888 in Thiruthani, Tamil Nadu into a Middle class family. He became the former president and first vice president of India. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. Dr . Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel prize 27 times . Radhakrishnan was a pioneer of Indian culture , an eminent Educationalist and a great philosopher. Dr. Radhakrishnan considered the whole world as a school . According to him , human mind can only be utilised by Education.wherever one gets to learn something , one should take that as a opportunity to utilize that in his life.
We get strength from the messages that were given by Radhakrishnan .These are some of the important teachings perched by him.
1. The teacher is not the one who forces facts into the mind of the students, but the actual teacher is the one who prepares him for the upcoming challenges of tomarrow.
2. Books are the means by which bridges can be built between different cultures.
3. Reading books gives us habit of thinking in solitude and true happiness.
4. Peace cannot come from political or economic change, but from a change in human nature.
5. Human Education can be utilised properly by education. Therefore , the world should manage Education as a single Entity.
6. In addition to technical knowledge ,we must also achieve greatness of the soul.
7. The result of Education should be a free creative person, who can fight against historical conditions and natural disasters.
8. No Freedom is true until the people who get it are given the freedom to express ideas.
9. There is no worship of God, but worship of those who claim to speak in his name.
10. Mother’s in every person ‘s’ life , After the father , the teacher makes an important contribution . Teachers not only illuminate the lives of students with their knowledge but also provide a new direction to the whole society. The responsibility of teachers has increased due to the new challenges in the field of education over time.
At present the whole world is suffering from the Corona pandemic which has a direct impact on Education.In the event of the schools, being closed for a long time , the education system has also got to change .The state government has started online studies with the aim of keeping children constantly connected to studies.
Many teachers are voluntarily taking measures for the Education of children based on the circumstances around them.
